First blog

My U. S History teacher has asked us to blog about a particular theme. I chose immigration. the action of  people coming to live permanently in the U.S. I picked this article. I picked immigration because this is one of the things that all Americans are talking about. There were 11.3 million unauthorized immigrants in the U.S. in 2014. Mexicans make up about half of all unauthorized immigrants, there were 5.6 million Mexican unauthorized immigrants living in the U.S. in 2014. Unauthorized immigrants make up 5.1% of the U.S. labor force. The economic, social, and political aspect of immigration have caused controversy regarding ethnicity, economic benefits, jobs for non-immigrants, settlement patterns, impact on upward social mobility, crime, and voting behavior.  Many immigrants came to America seeking greater economic opportunity, while some, such as the pilgrims arrived in search of religious freedom.
